Hi Ben,
If we extended the Gift Voucher Balance Check view in the POS to include a link to the Customer card (where you can update the expiry), would that solve this problem for you?

The trouble with adding it to POS is it means opening a till lane, which is awkward if you are working in back office, others are using all the lanes, or you are catching up after closing of batches. The main 3 things of the area would be for:
- Extending expiry dates
- Find a voucher number that we are struggling with (this can happen if a code is hand written by a person giving it as a gift). This would involve being able to do a "Contains" search in that field as you can do in Cloud Reports.
- Check a balance (without the need to open a POS lane)
Being able to do all the above in one place rather than a combo of Cloud Reports, Backoffice and POS would save time. I don't think adding a barrier of using a POS lane would be the best solution and also we limit who can extend expiry dates so POS is not the best area to encourage it. That being said, if you were set against adding a checker in backoffice, then adding a link in POS is better than the current flow!

Thank you - it might be that we split this into two separate pieces.
First, we'll add a link to the customer record in the existing Gift Voucher Balance Check - to speed up finding the customer for the voucher and allowing edit (we'll likely just add a link rather than encourage editing).
Secondly, we'll add a voucher lookup area in the Back Office. To support a "Contains" search to match Cloud Reports we'd need to load all vouchers, so we'll need to assess this for speed. Otherwise, I agree being able to do this in the Back Office would be useful.

Following that the whole gift voucher offering could do with an assessment to bring it in line with other platforms / consumer expectations (entering a recipient, add a message, schedule a date to email, a nice looking voucher email etc). Christmas 2025 did feel more embarrassing than ever to explain to customers that they had to wait 12-24 hours (depending on the time of day they ordered a voucher online) to receive it. Particularly when we are encouraging the purchase of them!
