Bulk update ILC

Can the Item Update Wizard be adjusted so that ILCs can also be changed in bulk.
When a brand changes supplier the new supplier often changes the Supplier Reorder Number.
If the Supplier Reorder Number does not match the ILC it makes it much more difficult to run price updates through as you can no longer cross-ref ILC with the supplier part number.
I have to manually go through and change the ILC to match the Supplier Reorder number. VERY SLOW AND TEDIOUS!
Everything works fine after I have done this so I can't see the reason for not allowing bulk changes to the ILC.
Previously printed barcodes need considering/re-printing or the old ILC added in as an alias but this is a minor niggle, easily fixed.

Stef,
We have an open issue which we are looking into whereby you'll be able to create a wizard by importing a file containing supplier reorder numbers and a price allowing you to update prices from the suppliers reorder number. This would address this issue would it not? I'm not sure the ecommerce integration would react well to a wholesale update of partcodes.

Neil McQuillan - CEO Citrus-Lime: Hi Neil, if this also covers MSRP and other Price updates then yes, it would help where we know that the ILC differs from the Supplier Reorder Number. If I could update all the product prices/cost from one wizard I would use this as my general go-to price update wizard. That would be grand, cover most updates I have to run through and save time!
[Supplier Reorder Number], [Supp Cost Price], [MSRP], [Price], [Other various Prices - A, B, Ebay etc to be thorough] would do the job rather well. Update Matrix option would also be needed.
If customers need more in-depth updating (Sale Prices, VAT, Change Supplier etc) then they can use the more specific and targeted current Price and Supplier wizards.
Recently I had to manually update c.150 ILCs when a brand moved supplier. The ecomm side of things sorted itself out after 10 mins or so with no issues. 'Updater beware: Bulk updating ILCs might mean that eComm products will be unavailable until eComm has updated all items'.

Stefan Moody: A bulk update of item lookupcodes would be ok thru to ecommerce, but if for example an item was ordered during the update process you are going to get problems. I don't think it's a good thing to do with regularity.
I will merge this post with the price update one I think.
Could you do me a quick example excel file for me, that would help me specify out the update.
I think this one is quite likely to happen in the near future.

Neil McQuillan - CEO Citrus-Lime: Hi Neil, I've emailed through to you a sample spreadsheet.
A full price/cost update wizard based on Reorder Numbers would pretty much negate my need to change ILCs when they no longer match the Reorder code. I would be able to work round the issues I currently have.

Stefan Moody: The email sent from Citrus Lime requiring that we change the Endura ILC's with barcodes (thousands of them) is a perfect reason why we need a an ILC update wizard for bulk changes. Also we have an increasing number of supplier changes as they move brands around which involves updating thousands of ILC's manually. This involves weeks of wasted time.

Steve: The Endura ILC/EAN is a right pain. We have over 4,000 active Endura ILCs. Even trimming this down a bit we'll have thousands of EANs to manually remove, then manually change the ILC. This is not feasible to do. We're still stuffed for Endura ordering and returns. Using SIM to import new product is impossible until all existing Endura are sorted.

Steve: Hi Steve,
I've just asked CL Support if they can do this...
Strip out all the Alias EANs for a given list of ILCs.
Waiting to hear back...
We can then run a Supplier Update Wizard to replace the Supplier Part Codes with the correct EANs. (I wouldn't want CL to do this part for us as there might be multiple EANS against a product).
POs can then be exported to csv file and uploaded to the Pentland B2B.
At present our ILCs match up with the Endura 24 pricelist so we can easily update over 4,000 Endura Supplier Part Codes to the correct EAN.
Obviously this will not update the ILCs but we can work round that.
Any new items we are adding to CL are using the EAN as ILC and Supplier Part Codes.
They are also checking if SIM will then correctly identify the updated Supplier Part Codes as items already on and update/not import if you use these features (we tend not to for various reasons).
