Copy Matrix and child items

Season to season, we'll most often order the same popular styles of clothing, just in the newest colors. It would be a huge time saver to be able to copy an existing Matrix Parent by providing a new ILC, Description and COLOR, and have the new matrix parent automatically populate with child items that are identical to the original, (all the same sizes) but using the new color.
Larger picture, it would also be useful if the Matrix Parent duplication process automatically populated the new matrix parent with the dimensions and attributes of the original - allowing quick editing of attributes instead of entering them from scratch.

100% agree. I've raised this before. Many of the bikes and apparel we carry only changes colours each season not models or names so it would be much quicker to have a function similar to 'copy item' function to create the parent and children.

Thats a cool idea.
I'm aware that Working Class Heroes use import templates to work around this issue, they get the information from their suppliers about their orders and then copy and paste this into Excel templates which they then import into Cloud POS to create the items. After that they use the order confirmations to create purchase orders. I'm not sure if that helps, but I'm aware WCH offer some of the same brands as you do, over here in sunny Ulverston where Citrus-Lime's HQ office is based which is why I thought about them.

Neil McQuillan - CEO Citrus-Lime I'm also using a custom import template, but only because it has an edge on efficiency when creating new items from scratch. Being able to create a whole new color in an existing style with just a few clicks within Citrus-Lime would be the superior solution.

Patrick Delaney Yes I agree that idea you've had is one I like. We're working thru all our backoffice BETA feedback as it stands, but in principle this is a cool idea.
