This would be a big help to us too. We have customers phoning us every month thinking they have not been credited.

Totally agree, not having a credit note on a statement confuses account customers as they can't see that they have been credited. They can't see the credit note on statement when they are reconciling their payment.

I too suffer with this problem. I have 150+ accounts to manage most of which have invoices sent out monthly. The lack of credit notes in effect causes the value of an invoice to be changed after it has been sent to the customer so the incorrect amount is paid. This is compounded by ad-hoc payments/returns not being shown in the ’Outstanding Amount’ column on the statement of account that customers receive. It also means that often credit notes are not used against invoices in the same month that the return occurred. Lack of credit notes adds a lot of complexity to account management and invoicing.

I would arrange a session with our training team on accounts, there is no charge for this service. We have a lot of customers who use accounts and this sounds like we could help with further training in this area. If you use Live Chat to set that up we can help you understand this area of the system better. If after this there is still an issue I'd be happy to look at it further.
