OPTION TO SELECT WHICH LABELS TO PRINT IS NEEDED
Toby K Selph Arnett
Currently, the final step to Receiving Stock offers two choices: "Print All Labels" or "Continue Without Printing Labels." In practice, we often need to print labels for the majority of items on a PO but occasionally exclude one or two line items. It would be extremely helpful to have a third option, “Select Which Labels to Print,” to streamline this process.
This “Select Which Labels to Print” option would ideally open a menu listing the PO line items with checkboxes next to each. A “Select All” feature could pre-select all items, allowing us to easily de-select the few items for which labels are not needed.
Adding this feature would provide significant flexibility and improve workflow efficiency, especially in cases where only minor adjustments to the label printing selection are needed.
Thank you for considering this enhancement.

Select Labels to Print

I need a way to select which labels to print.
Why:
We don't label things that are marketing in nature, that we give away.
For example, key chains. I printed 50 labels today that won't be using. We give a key chain with each bike purchase.
I also printed 50 labels for insulated bags that I will be giving away to all attendees at our upcoming Palooza.
That's 100 labels wasted just today.
Recommendation: please develop a method where we can select which labels we want printed.

Yes, this is a great idea that allows us better flexibility.

Agreed Toby K Selph Arnett, further to this would be the ability to change the number of barcodes to print. An example of this would be receiving 200 of an item but only putting 20 on the shelf and the remainer into bulk stock to be barcoded when needed for sale, so the abilty to print only 20 rsther than 200 would be great!

Depending on what we are doing with the stock, such as putting it in to store or out for sale on the shop floor varies the amount of labels we need at different times. If it had a the option to change this at the point of goods in it would be helpful rather than doing it item by item each time and then remembering to change it back for other times. It would also be a prompt to set the label to a different permanent setting if needed.

Hi all,
You can set a Label Print Option against all items, this allows you to configure how many labels will print for the item when you print from a purchase order.
This is set on the LABELS tab on the item card, or can be set in the Item Detail Wizard (if you want to set this against multiple items at once).
Thanks,
Suzy

Suzy Weightman we prefer to do it at the time we are checking in the items. If we cant do it then from a memu of tge items we just checked in, it drives us to do a lot more work. We have to get back into Items, then type in and search for each item that we want to print labels for. Then we have to hit Edit. Tab over to print labels, say how many we want. We have to do that for each item on the PO that we want to print labels for. It would be much easier to have a third option at tge time if check-in...1) Dont Print Any Labels; 2) Select Labels to Print; 3) Print All Labels. Option 2 should pop up with a menu if all items on the PO, with tge ability to check those we want to print and say how many to print of those checked.
I am not going through 1000s of items to set the proper label printing quantity. Had tge proper amount been set as each item was created, that would be a good solution. But i had a LOT of items imported and tge settings werent looked at item by item, and in the previous POS a printing setting wasnt available. To correct it at this point would take me days of only focusing on that task. I cant focus on this small of a detail for days on end, just to save a few labels.

Suzy Weightman please also merge Tom Mulligan's suggestion on tge same topic.

Toby K Selph Arnett Hi Toby,
I certainly wasn't suggesting this an alternative to your idea, I think it's a really good one and something I hope we'll be able to deliver in Back Office 2.0!
It was just a suggestion in case this helps with box quantity items in the short term.
Thanks,
Suzy

Toby K Selph Arnett: Hi Toby,
That's a separate request to be able to print labels from the item search grid in the Back Office, not to select number to print when receiving Purchase Orders so I'm going to leave that as a separate post.
Thanks!

Suzy Weightman. Ah. Very good. 🙂

Suzy Weightman i didnt realize that. Thats a good idea too.

Agree! I do not need to print a tag for each gel or valve adapter but need tags for the rest of the items on the PO.
I will not go to each individual item and print the tags, that is absolutely ridiculous and inefficient use of time.

Katie Bolton use the print label options, set it and save it, for example with these tyre levers we print a single label, not 25, which is applied to the box.
I used to waste hundreds until CS educated me.
