Purchase Order (PO) system - item link should open in a new tab
complete
Nick Johnston
Loss of Multi-Tab Functionality:
Previously, clicking an item in a PO would open it in a new tab. This allowed for easy flicking between the main PO and individual items. In the new system, clicking opens in the same tab, and if data hasn't been saved, all progress is lost. This change disrupts workflow and increases the risk of data loss. In the event you need to check something.
Barcode Entry – Extra Step Introduced:
Barcode input now requires an additional action compared to the previous version. This slows down the booking-in process, especially when dealing with large deliveries.
Impact:
These changes significantly reduce efficiency when processing POs. Tasks that used to be fluid and fast are now more time-consuming and error-prone.
Request:
Please consider reintroducing:
The ability to open PO items in a new tab.
Streamlined barcode entry without additional steps.

Hi Nick,
Just a quick update for you, we've updated the item links in the Purchase Order pages so they now open in a new tab.
This will be deployed on Monday evening with the July release of Cloud POS.
Thanks,
Suzy

Hi Nick,
You can open the items in a new tab, this is just a middle click or a right click and open in new tab. Based on previous user feedback we've tried to keep everything within one tab as much as possible - but we're open to changing places where this isn't working!
Could you give me a bit more information on the Barcode Entry, perhaps a Loom video highlighting the workflow you're using?
Thanks in advance.
Suzy

Suzy Weightman Thanks, when you try and enter a barcode, it used to be a one step process. Now this needs further steps to do the same thing. I dont have loom to demonstrate it.

Nick Johnston: Thanks Nick.
Is this entering a barcode to receive stock on the PO page or adding a new barcode to an item record?
Thanks,
Suzy
