When we SIM in a new item we use very little of the actual data that is imported. We change description, pricing (no prices ending in .99 in our shop!), item lookup code (from vendor SKU to UPC/EAN), and add supplier cost (why is that not imported??) at a minimum. With the current SIM process, this is not easy, as we have to import the item and then go into it to make the changes.

Can we have a screen like what you see when you merge customers where it lists the SIM data that would be imported and gives us the option to edit before importing? By default, any field that we edit should NOT be linked to SIM updates for that item.

Perhaps this is an option - have a "quick SIM" and a "detailed SIM" that we can choose from when importing?
