Text messages don't work without a customer account, but customers don't know that

We printed new business cards with our Citrus Lime provided text number and put it up on our website. We learned that customers were texting us but since we didn't have them set up as a customer, we don't know that they sent a message and they don't know that we didn't get the message. This caused reputation issues and I have 3,000 business cards that can't be used unless we cross out our text number. Please fix this to allow messages to come through.

No problem, your suggested solution sounds good. The plumbing is a bit of a faff for us, but this is a sound idea. I'll float it internally it would be good to help with your business cards, I cannot make a commit on time but I feel this is something the product would ideally handle.

Fair point, what would you like to happen here, create a customer account with just the mobile number in?

Neil McQuillan - CEO Citrus-Lime, sure, that works. You use phone number as a primary key anyway, so just create a record and then we can see messages. There's a risk of getting spam, so if we can "mute" a number that may be a useful feature to consider as well. Thanks for responding so quickly!
