MailChimp Integration / Distinguish Between MailOrder, C&C and Retail
complete
Neil McQuillan - CEO Citrus-Lime
Currently our integration is changing to upload all transactions from Cloud POS, which allows automations based on retail sales (if those items are live in the ecommerce platform). For example sending an email populated with accessories for those who have recently purchased a bike. All customers will be moved to this model in the June 15th Ecommerce release.
Mailchimp has limited analysis fields related to orders which has meant those customers already using this feature cannot create different automations for retail, C&C and mail order (ecommerce) orders. We're adjusting the integration to upload 'fake' products on transactions so you can alter automations based on the type of order.

To elaborate further on what Neil has said about the uploading of "fake" products;
The idea is to create an Automation Customer Journey based upon the purchase of a specific product.
There are 3 fake items we upload;
- RETAIL_SALE
- ECOM_CLICKANDCOLLECT
- ECOM_MAILORDER
This means individual journeys can be created for each order type.

Our MailChimp integration now defaults to uploading orders from both Cloud POS and Cloud POS Ecommerce. A line-item is added to each order to differentiate between orders placed online and orders placed in store. This means that you can create meaningful workflows and automations based on where your customers visited and ordered their items.

Ben Kippax: Would this potentially mean that you couldn't utilise "vendor purchased" also? or could you implement it alongside a second journey starting point?
Ben Kippax
Shirin Sadr: You can apply filters against the initial journey starting point;
For instance, you can filter by the vendor purchased and any other contact-based filters;

Shirin Sadr I think you'll find this interesting.
