allow the size of an item to show as a separate field in sales reports to allow easy viewing of size curve data (particularly when exported to excel). This would make it way easier to quickly see (for example) how many size 8 boots have been sold in a given period.

The funtionality to do this is available in the item reports, but for some reason not in sales.
