Multiple parcels per consignment

Suzy Weightman The only carrier where this applies to for us is DPD. It is a real pain that we can't do it in CIM as we end up using the DPD portal and not keeping all our shipping/tracking in one place. As long as the combined weight is under 10kg (after that it is extra per kg) they don't charge any more if we want to send several parcels in one consignment (really useful for bulky or awkward items). What is the feasibility of you adding the ability to allow multi parcel label generation in a consignment? Attached is how it shows on the DPD portal.

This would be really beneficial for us. Sometimes we have to create up to 6 different consignments, with 6 different tracking numbers for just 1 order.

Also the ability to insure consignments would be helpful as this is available in parcelforce.net

We've worked around this by printing a label for each box before we tender.
However, it would be a useful feature.

Pete: Does this not just create two identical labels with the same tracking number?
A
Andy
Matt Ives: No - it creates different consignments. This causes issues when the customer is signing for 1 of 1 package, when there is actually multiple package on their way. BUT the label says 1 of 1

Pete: how does that work?
P
Pete
Nick Johnston: I print a label for the consignment, I don't tender the order and I then print another label for the consignment.
The carrier we use doesn't give us multiple boxes under a single tracking number, so we ship each box under a different tracking number.
Hope that helps?

Pete: Thanks, we can try that. We use RM and ParcelForce. Not sure if thats the same for you? Do you get charged as if they were two separate deliveries?
P
Pete
Nick Johnston: Hi Nick, we also use Parcel force and RM.
Yes they do get charged as seperate deliveries. With the rate we get from RM two medium sized parcels up to 6kg each costs us less than a single box with Parcel force

Pete: Thank you for that, i dont think it would work for us.
