3 URLs to access product page - should 301 redirect to one

Store 2
I can access a product via 3 URLs:
/detailfast.aspx?ID=23407
/23407/products/kryptonite-kryptolok-standard-u-lock-with-4-foot-kryptoflex-cable.aspx
/accessories/locks/kryptonite-kryptolok-standard-u-lock-with-4-foot-kryptoflex-cable__23407
There is a canonical tag in place here that points to the last URL above as the canonical, but a 301 redirect to properly canonise these pages would be better.

This is live following the release and I've just checked it's working as I would expect.

This is a platform bug, we have always 301'd products the correct Url.
We will address this immediately the fix will be in the July release.
301s to the correct Url...

We have launched a new front-end website and Google search console is showing these detailfast URLs as 404s - so something on the site must be referencing them for Google to have found them in the first place

I've just came across this on Google Search Console, showing that these pages are being crawled. If they were 301 redirecting instead, then Google wouldn't be crawling these pages and instead spending that time indexing our other pages? Am I correct in my thinking here?
