Coupon Code discount to be applied only to the appropriate items

Currently, when a coupon is applied to an order this will apply across every line item on the order, despite the coupon settings. For example, a user may set the coupon code to apply to a specific item or items within a category or filter option but when downloaded to CloudPOS each item on the order is discounted proportionally.
This, in turn, affects the margin of every product on the order rather than the intended products originally allocated within the coupon creation process.
It also is not clear to the end consumer when receiving their Sales Receipt from CloudPOS which items have been discounted with the use of the Coupon Code.

This is definitely a problem we have faced.
A customer may have 50% code for a specific brand and on the invoice it will split that discount they have received across the whole order. This is an issue for the supplier and the customer- because it may result in us refunding the customer more than they were supposed to get (if it was an item that the coupon didn't apply to that the customer has returned) or us refunding too little (in the case that they send back the item that the discount applied to- they will only get back a smaller amount than they would if the discount had just been applied solely to that item. I hope that makes sense. I just don't see how other retailers have not faced the issue- unless it hasn't been brought to their attention yet.
Aside from refunds being inaccurate amounts- how much is this affecting reports and accuracy of margins on specific products (especially ones that are always blocked from coupons)
We need a system where it doesn't split the discounts across all products that wee purchased- but rather displays it only on the specific products that the code is meant to work with

Roxie. This sounds like a bug or something to do with your setup, I'd raise it with Jenna.
