Drop down purchase options on a product page

Create a way for customers to use drop down options to select key aspects of the product. This would work for body protectors, hats and coats. The drop downs could be, size, length, colour for example. (https://www.oldmillsaddlery.com/en/Equidry-All-Rounder/m-70621.aspx)

I agree a one click is the most effective way to encourage consumers through the conversion pathway. I wonder, if on products such as body protectors where they need to select multiple different elements to find the right product if having this layout would allow for a easier UX. Guiding the customer through selection could reduce the input needed from customers, as it is clear and easy to locate the product size correctly. It would also work on custom build products, (which we have altered through 360 to make it a more user appropriate experience), but refining this further front and back end could increase conversion rates. Further to this having a second drop down on liner hats, to allow a liner to be added without clicking into star buy structure would reduce the number of missing liners, and remove customer service input - I would predict anyway!

That requires three clicks/user interactions, instead of the current Citrus-Lime approach which requires a single user interaction. Generally less leads to higher conversion rates, but I'm interested to know what you see the business benefit of this approach to be. Because of the way we get a lot of data from suppliers, I'm not sure that three tier approach could be implemented consistently but I can intrigued about your views on the question above.
