Multiple Gift Vouchers in checkout
complete

Currently customers can only redeem 1 gift voucher per order in the checkout. This is quite regularly becoming inconvenient for customers who may receive gift vouchers from several friends or family and want to combine them on a bigger purchase.
Currently these customers are having to phone us and place the order via the phone.
Could it be updated so that customers can redeem multiple gift vouchers on the website (but retain the option to limit it to 1 discount code).

This will be in the next ecommerce release.

Neil McQuillan - CEO Citrus-Lime: Just organising a promo that would make use of this. Will this be live in June?
Neil McQuillan - CEO Citrus-Lime
Ben: This is live now. Give it a try, I'd recommend doing this prior to planning any new campaign.

Neil McQuillan - CEO Citrus-Lime: Just tested. Looks good. 👍

I'm now fairly confident this can be achieved, the work is nearing completion and will then go for testing.

Neil McQuillan - CEO Citrus-Lime: brilliant. So we will be able to set it to not allow multiple discount codes whilst retaining the ability for multiple gift vouchers to be used?
Neil McQuillan - CEO Citrus-Lime
Ben: I’ll check that in my testing today but yes it will work like that. Coupon settings are independent of gift voucher ones.
Neil McQuillan - CEO Citrus-Lime
Ben: Gift voucher applied, one coupon applied. Cannot add another coupon see first screenshot, but you can apply another gift voucher, see second screenshot.

A right old mix of things on here.
Coupon, three vouchers and Rewards Points.

Still a little experimental, but we've made some progress. I'm still not sure this is viable but it is looking more likely now.

I'm going to look to see if this is possible as a future development today. We have some other work to do this in this area and I'll look into this matter at the same time. At one point this was simply not viable due to the way the order imported into Cloud POS but I believe this may have changed.

Neil McQuillan - CEO Citrus-Lime: Since raising this last year this has become more of an issue for us. Just wondering if there was any feedback on it being closed? Would there ever be scope to split these 2 bits of functionality in the checkout (i.e. Gift Vouchers & Discount Codes)?
B
Ben
Neil McQuillan - CEO Citrus-Lime: We run several influencers where they earn commission on their followers using their discount code. We just ran some reports to work out their commission and noticed that customers had become wise to the fact they could use multiple discount codes on a single order (and are even combining with other promotions to the extent that some customers have used up to 6 discount codes on a single order.
To prevent this we have decided to turn off the "Allow multiple gift vouchers" option in Cloud MT. However, this is now going to cause problems for gift voucher users who regularly wish to redeem multiple gift vouchers in a single order.
This led me to checking the progress of this case but noticed it is marked as closed. Do you know why it was closed and if there is the opportunity to reopen and discuss? We would really like to see gift voucher redemption and discount code use split out so one does not affect the other.

Hey All,
I am chiming in again.
Sorry but this is one of those things that needs to be fixed! We get very agitated customers who are unable to spend their gift vouchers with us easily.
We have many customers who get bought multiple vouchers off family members for their birthday and Christmas, and these customers want to spend that money (gift vouchers) on one transaction. Like Ben, we turned off allowing people to use multiple vouchers to avoid the overuser use issue with Coupon Codes.
So, like Ben again, I have to ask... Why was this case closed?
We are meant to make it as easy as possible for customers to spend money with us. However, only being able to use one gift voucher per transaction on the website is blatantly making things difficult for your client's customers.
Gift Vouchers and Coupon Codes need to be two different functions in the checkout — one for the Coupon codes and one for a Gift Voucher and both have their own option for allowing multiple uses or not.
Keep them in the same box to keep things tidy but please get this working properly. We look very unprofessional when we have to tell our customers that our site can't do something other sites can.
Please can we get this case reopened with an update, because having this case closed with no reason is a bit confusing for your customers.

Will Condie: Agreed. It is surprising how many people comment on this negatively in our customer reviews.
Neil McQuillan - CEO Citrus-Lime Please could some feedback be provided as if we raise this as a concern with the Helpdesk we will be sent back to Canny.

Hi All,
This is creating an issue for us at the moment which is causing us to lose money due to unauthorised discounts being generated and used on the website.
In order for us to process multiple gift vouchers for online orders, we have to have coupons set to "allow multiple coupons".
This is allowing customers to generate several "First Order Discount" £5 codes using multiple email addresses, and then use all of these codes on a single order.
This could be solved if gift vouchers were treated differently to other discount codes - at the moment we have to either cause inconvenience to customers (and potentially lose sales) by not allowing multiple coupons, or we have to risk losing money by customers using a scam (which I'm told is well-known to the CL team) to generate multiple coupons.
Either way we lose out - this issue needs addressing ASAP!
Many thanks,
Storm

Hi All,
I hope you have had a lovely Christmas.
I will have to weigh in on this.
It is not uncommon for people to be gifted multiple gift vouchers from the same retailer, and for that person to then want to redeem all of the gift vouchers in one purchase. When a customer tries to do this we have to tell them that they can't which it looks very unprofessional and we have to do a very awkward work-around which takes up time for our Customers Service team.
This week we even lost a sale because of this issue and they went and bought the item they were after from one of our competitions.
This needs fixing ASAP.
All the best
Will

Hi Ben,
I like this idea but it does require changing some fairly intricate code, so probably not . I'm going to leave it open to gauge interest for now (please vote on the issue if you are interested in this) and in the meantime I will discuss it with the team.
