Remember scroll state when returning to filtered results

Is it possible to preserve scroll position when a customer returns to a Find & Filter results page using the browser back button?
Currently, customers can scroll through a collection, view a product, then press back and be returned to the top of the page rather than where they left off. This creates friction and makes browsing large collections frustrating.
Remembering scroll state is standard on many ecommerce sites and should help increase product discovery, page views, and conversion by making it easier for customers to continue shopping.
Is this something that can be implemented?

This is a great idea. Same can be said for remembering filters applied when going back to the Find & Filter page, the above scroll state and filters has been standard on sites for some time and our sites not having this hurts browser experience and revenue.

Jon Mayo We receive a lot of customer service enquiries about this, and even on pages with relatively few products it's a frustrating experience.
It discourages customers from browsing the site. After encountering it once or twice, many users are likely to abandon the page rather than continue shopping. An improved experience here would make product discovery much smoother and encourage deeper browsing.
