Wishlist Functionality for saving items for later

I know there is a separate Wishlist request on Canny but the description discusses more of a "share a basket" functionality.
This request is for more of a way for customers to save items for later. The John Lewis and Asos website show the functionality almost exactly as we would like it whereby a customer can "heart" an item both on the product page and on the category pages and these items appear in their "Wishlist" page where they can click back through to order them. It does not need to be attribute specific. Just a link back to the items page.
Our customers have requested this feature specifically. Particularly in an app we have recently launched. Our customers have said they currently copy and paste the links to products and save in their notes on their devices so it seems it is a feature customers would use.

Would be great to know if this is in the pipeline, as our charity customers have requested it to share with their followers/supporters. EKM (who we moved across from) had this function.

This is something we will definitely do in the future quite a lot on in the coming months, but its a feature we built the plumbing for with Shared Baskets - so we will definitely add this when resource allows.

Neil McQuillan: Hey Neil, I think what would add a lot of value to the wishlist functionality would be integrating this to the data feed to mailchimp (or other alternative) that would enable the ability for personalised email automation based on products held in the wishlist. Therefore rather than customers signing up for individual bike alerts (where we dont gain the value of being able to add them to our mailing list - i think i suggested this elsewhere on canny) - customers create an account in order to add to their wishlist, which enables restock alerts, price drops, targeted messaging, exclusive promos etc. Thanks!

Original post ...
If we are putting packages together is there any way we can put a basket together for customers and email it to them which might include a link for them to confirm and pay with? Also for customer to create themselves online and to share with others - birthdays Christmas etc
Update
The ability to create a basket and provide a link to customers has been worked on and will be deployed on our Late June 2021 Ecommerce release.
This Canny will now be specifically for customers creating "Wish Lists".

Following the launch of cart share and because the description of this card does not appear to describe what it is requesting any longer due to the merge of posts I have created a new thread for a "Wishlist Save for later" style function.
If you would prefer it stays within this page please merge but could the description be updated so we know exactly what to vote on?

Given that the functionality is now there to save and send basket links it would be nice to add a front end functionality for customers to send wishlist emails to friends and family which would include the link to populate everything in the users basket.

We have been looking at the possibility of adding features like this. I think they fall in to 2 separate features in our setup:
1) A Wishlist functionality function on the customer facing website to work in much the same way that John Lewis's does i.e. the customer adds various items to their Wishlist and can send this to a friend or family member. Ideally we would have access to this data so that it can be used in conjunction with an offline method we use in store currently where by customers can come in and leave lists for others to come in after and buy for them.
2) A way to create an order in Cloud POS and send a payment link to the customer to complete the order. Obviously there would be issues around making sure this order is then marked as ready to despatch or collect following payment.

I did indeed use the old RMS version of this but it wasnt used as much as we expected. What IS used a lot on other platforms I manage on BigCommerce, Shopify, Magento 2 is PERSISTENT BASKETS. Its also used on our very own suppliers such as Madison B2B, although that has the benefit of a login to register tha basket against.
SO if CL cannot do some form of persistent basket due to cookie/session restrictions I think a SAVE BASKET feature on the basket page may be very effective, as you are encouraging people to sign up or sign in, win-win?
