Better Automated Gift Voucher Email
W
Will Condie
We get a lot of customers complaining about how bad it is that we only supply an email receipt for our gift vouchers.
Cutomers get quite angry about this. So much so that our CS manager is going out of his way to design vouchers that looks nice to send to customers so they can print it out.
Personally I don't care how I get a voucher, but I'm not everyone else and there is a lot of feedback about how we should be sending nicer voucher emails.
It's been a while since I have bought any bike bits, but Chain Reaction Cycles use to allow you to buy a voucher and select a date on which to automatically send the Gift Voucher email to the intended recipient.
So, nicer looking automated emails for customers who buy our Gift Vouchers would be great.
Then having more functionality in how customers can get the voucher email to the recipient would be a big bonus!

This has been on the board for close to 3 years and clearly has a lot of interest, will their be a roadmap of priorities for 2025? There are a lot of popular developments that have been discussed on the board for some time that would be useful to have an update on or our expectations managed.

We've now activated our gift vouchers, and this is definitely a point of improvement. Even if the email was simply improved or better yet, we were able to design html email templating ourselves.

Hi Will Condie
Just a quick sanity-check (for me) but are we discussing "Cloud POS Gift Vouchers" (... which can be used in Citrus-Lime Ecommerce)?
The only reason I am asking is that, if that is the case, this isn't a topic for the Ecom board and I can move. Please confirm :)

Ben Kippax: Hi Ben,
Yeah, I am referring Cloud POS Gift Vouchers. :)
Ben Kippax
Will Condie: Right, that makes sense. To that end, this canny is now in the incorrect section. Cloud POS Gift Voucher Emails aren't managed by Ecommerce.

Ben Kippax: Ahhh, where should it go?
Ben Kippax
Will Condie: I've moved it to the Point of Sale board for you :)

I agree with this. I made this point when we first adapted Citrus Lime - the voucher is not very presentable. In store at least we can put it in a nice envelope but the email version isn’t nice at all. Would like to see some effort put into improving this.

I would definitely agree with this one. Here at OPA, we do send out a personalised gift voucher to the customers but I have always felt the Citrus Lime generated voucher has no personality. Would be great if businesses could customise it.

Agree. There seems to have been a lot of talk about improving customer emails in general but not much action.
