Bin number show on item line in POS
complete

It’s been a year or two since I put this up but with the new POS solution PLEASE can it show the bin number on the product detail line when you scan it in, hopefully it does already but it would be a huge time saver to allow the team member at the till to go and find the item rather than having to click to open the item card, open the item card, scroll down to find the bin number, then close that window. A big time saver over the course of a day in a busy showroom :)

Hi all,
We've added the Bin Location to the item details dropdown on the transaction lines in Cloud POS 2.0.
We'll also look to add this information to the scan to pickup view in the future.
Thanks,
Suzy

Add bin location to product row on POS till

It would be great if the bin location was shown on the product line on the POS till system. Currently we have to click on the sprocket icon, then open item card, then scroll down to see the bin location.
If it was showing on the product row, then staff could use the till system to identify a bin location in seconds, and wont require any experience of back office to know where the bin number is found on the product card

Hi all,
This has been added to the item details dropdown on the transaction lines in Cloud POS 2.0.
This should be released mid-January.
Thanks,
Suzy

I would NOT like to see this added to POS, POS should be where you bring the item once you have already located them , if it is for mail order picking then doing it via the POS is a very fiddly and inifficient way to pick orders. that would be best done with a picklist in BO, And yes i agree that the picklist is also terrible as you have to press far to many buttons to produce a simple picklist so the picklist feature needs improved alot, such as a pre-saved picklist that can be recalled with a single click.

A more obvious bin location would be helpful in a couple of instances.
As per my suggestion of 14 months ago.

Pete: yes indeed I voted for that too. Anyone using CL as a lite WMS will understand how important bin number visibility is, your suggestion would be a huge time saver too…

Thanks, I am not part of the BETA testing but will feed that back

Scott: Bin location is in the stock enquiry screen when one is set.

Neil McQuillan: The problem with that is you don't know what stock you're enquiring about until you've opened the order. It doesn't save clicks.
My new work around is keeping another tab open with the picklist open and refreshing the grid from time to time. Then I can see what is needed and where it is BEFORE I open the order.
However having the bin location here, would save us having to do that, but I understand that what makes my life easier may possibly infuriate another CL user and you have to keep it balanced.

Scott,
It would be worth asking to be added to the BETA that way your feedback has a more direct route into the POS 2.0 team. I'd ping Emma a message, I'd value your positive feedback, and on areas we need to improve.
I've had a quick check and this is not in the primary line display or the slide out 'More Info' panel. I suspect it would be easily added to the 'More Info' panel, some caution might be required here as we're going to add support for multiple bin locations and then this functionality would need revision. On this basis I think the 'More Info' panel makes most sense as there is more space to breath.
The second screenshot shows the stock enquiry which is then two clicks in, where it looks like we plan to show it.

Neil McQuillan: how do we know feedback is being implemented into POS 2.0 from our suggestions? i've put in 8-10 bits of feedback, but might not get in. is it worth having a pos 2.0 section so other people can vote on how 2.0 should be shaped? Thanks

Made a similar suggestion here back in August.

Info
FYI, you don't have to go into the Item Card in order to view the Bin Location. It is also displayed on the Stock Enquiry pop-up. Not exactly what you are asking for but perhaps a little quicker than your current method.
