Credit card receipt printed from till and not card machine.

Would really like to see the credit card receipt printing integrated into the POS receipt ie when customer is making an instore purchase, we are still giving a receipt from the PDQ machine AND one from the POS which feels a bit outdated.
You can usually see the customers acting a little surprised when you hand them two receipts. Even if you send an email receipt, you still have to give them the credit card receipt from the PDQ which seems a little odd.
Could this be improved?

Some of our Paymentsense card machines stopped printing receipts after the Citrus Lime total outage recently when we had to switch to Standalone mode to put sales through. However, we didn't get a Z Report from them at the end of the day so we had to reinstate the printing via the Paymentsense helpdesk. We were hoping to rely on the online admin portal for problems instead of printing both the cardholder copy and merchant copy (and then storing these securely for years) but we needed the Z Report printouts.
When we had DOJO machines, they used to print a Z Report without the individual transaction receipts, which was much better for us. Can the Paymentsense ones be the same as that?

I agree, this would save paper and with bigger businesses, this can add up buying lots of rolls.
A Tesco's recepit is a great example of how much info you can fit in very little space.
if we could do something similar, this would save us £100's if not £1000's per year

We just turned the pdq machine receipt off. Less paper waste and customers never seem to want it.

Scott I think we tried that previously but there was some reason that it wasn't suitable and I can't remember why. If you turn off the PDQ print then if I'm correct, you then don't get a merchant copy either so what happens when you have a payment query of some kind in relation to a card payment as presumably you can't access any kind of information about that particular transaction eg card type, authorisation code, last 4 digits

Info it’s rare that’s needed and when it is we have the online logins to look at these transactions. Just can’t remember the last time we needed to.

Info that’s interesting but when the integrated payment sense machine bugs out the only way you know if the payment went through is when you have a card receipt as the till doesn’t know if it went through or not this happens at least a few times a month. It would be better to print the till receipt before the card receipt but I don’t think that’s possible. All tho I have noticed when you ask the customer if they want a receipt they say no but they still want to help them selves to the card machine receipt.

Terry A fair point indeed although Scott’s point on checking online is possibly the answer. Something that I’m going to look into.
