Harmonised commodity codes

Would it be possible to have it so that once a commodity code has been put in for an item when being shipped off it saves the code for the item. Therefore won't have to search every time what the code is as some would be saved after previously being put in. Would make shipping off to the countries that need these codes a lot more efficient.

I raised this last month, it's there in the system already, you just need to put it in the right place. Suzy explained it in this post.

Pete Baars What is the advanced tab? I'm talking about when you have to put customs information in and harmonised code has to be put in the till when shipping off. This should be saved after its been put in here.

Alfie Young I agree it would make it easier if it was saved when entered, but the only option at present seems to be to populate the code here in the advanced tab of the item page.

Pete Baars Oh okay I see what you mean. Would just be nice if it was something that could be saved once put in on the till. Rather than having to search the item up and going the long way round.

Alfie Young I agree, but if you prepopulate it, it's there. So I've taken to adding them to the item card. Only works because my business is small and I do it when it's flagged up during despatch and invariably once saved we never get another export order for that product. 😉

Pete BaarsHi Pete, I'm with Alfie on this one. Its alright if you are running a small business with just a few items, but with 80,000+ items on our system and 1500+ orders a day at the moment there is no way we would be able to go into items to add the codes, especially with the fact POS is very very slow at loading when you have this many items and orders on the system. If you are entering them anyway tendering off the order then I can't see why Citrus Lime can't introduce a piece of kit to just save those codes automatically. It would save us hours of updating commodity codes on over 80,000 lines of stock. At the moment we just have one dispatcher who can tender off this number of orders a day but we would have to bring someone else on part time to add commodity codes to listings if we have to do it this way.

Lily W I'm with you, my original question which Suzy answered was, "is there an area where the code can be prepopulated", looking it up and adding it during despatch is time consuming.
Saving it when added at despatch would be brilliant, but currently I'm having to save them manually to save me repeating the process on a subsequent sale should it happen.
I only have 12,000 items in my system (but probably a much smaller team to manage it). Automatic saving would be very useful, now that I need these codes I'm adding them to future Import templates when creating our stock.
I wonder if they are pulled in with SIM Import data, they certainly weren't previously.
