Label Printing - Allow printing of custom text

Sorry, but this really doesn't really go far enough Suzy. As explained below, the barcode labels are just too small. You need to make CL compatible with a printer thet uses larger labels. Try spotting a customer's name on these tiny labels on a row of bike boxes.

No, not really. The problem is that the barcode printer prints off TINY labels. Better to configure for a printer that will accept larger labels. Then we could print labels once a bike (or any item) has been allocated to a customer - something that can go on the box and is easy to read from a reasonable distance. Also for address labels for shipping items, which need to be bigger. There are lots of commonly available and inexpensive label printers out there that are widely used - e.g. Dymo, as Piers says below. Ideally this would be an integrated part of the business process and we would be given the option to print at different stages of the retail process when an item is set on "layaway." See this example generated by our old EPOS system. (Where it says "no booking set" would be the workshop slot except in this case the bike was sold pre-built).

Completely agree with this! Our ancient 25 yr old EPOS system was able to link with any label printer (usually a Dymo...) to automatically print 'stock allocation' labels once the stock had been received or set to layaway. Also allowed a 'Print address label' option from customer account. Also printed automatically a 'customer/job details' label once a bike was received into the workshop. Pretty basic, but extremely handy stuff. Would be a massive improvement!

On our Old system we had our Logo, Barcode, and Price printed large. We really need this to happen as the current CL labels are a real backward step for us. :(

we used to be able to print address labels on the old zebra printer, the new printer is EPOS only, bit crap really.

This would be great. I have set up a custom size page in Word the same size as the label and just copy and paste into it.

We also used to use the barcode printer for all sorts of misc printing jobs. Some of our stores have hooked up old barcode printers directly to their computers to do this.
Send Address Label to Barcode printer would be handy from the customer page.
Free text option to send to the barcode printer would also be very handy.
