Many customers only say they don't want a receipt after the transaction has been completed. This or as soon as they seen 'Approved' on the PDQ they head off. It means we waste a huge amount of paper on unnecessary Receipts.
It would be great if the option to print the receipt was moved after the transaction had been completed as on other Epos systems and retail environments.
Yes, you can ask the customer if they want a receipt before closing the transaction but often they haven't got to that part of the transaction process in their head until they've entered their PIN number.

Hi all,
You can now select to print a 40-col receipt after the transaction has completed.

Suzy Weightman The new feature is great, but that doesn't solve this post does it? The whole point is not having POS print unnecessary receipts, something it very much still does. The option added allows reprinting additional receipts after the transaction has completed.

Dave: Hi Dave,
I think (emphasis on think!) it does, if you configure your register to "Default to e-Receipts" - this means that receipts are not printed by default and you'd select to print one with the transaction options toggle, or to print after the transaction has posted if one is required.
This setting can be changed on the registers page in Back Office - https://pos.citruslime.com/backofficeux/registers.aspx
Let me know your thoughts.
Thanks,
Suzy

Suzy Weightman Unfortunately not.
If you toggle to 'Default to e-Receipts' then you can't process a sale unless you enter an email address... or print a receipt!
Customers buying small items where they don't want a receipt most definitely don't want to give us their email address, especially as they are already halfway out the door when the PDQ machine says authorised.
The only way out of the below screen is to print the unwanted receipt. I've not tried added a random email address to see what happens, but that then becomes a waste of time/energy/IT.
So this ticket does indeed need re-opening.

Dave Hi Dave,
I think the best solution here is that you use the toggles to choose whether to send a receipt for each transaction?
It isn't the only way out of the below screen, you just select not to send an eReceipt for this transaction.
Thanks,
Suzy

Suzy Weightman Sorry, I'll get off my High horse. I've just tested again, and yes, if you untick E-receipt it'll let me progress without either an email or wasting paper.
Thanks for the assistance. :-)

Love the picture hopefully this is clear enough of how annoying & wastefull it can be.
This shouldant be to difficult for the development team to implement.
