Multiple credit cards for one transaction.

Customers occasionally want to split total between multiple cards. Another example is credit card companies send customers gift cards in the form of a credit card with a preset amount. The only way to do this right now is to create a deposit, ring out the transaction. Have to repeat the process again. It would be more efficient to be able to customize the amount, run the cc, and keep creating customized amounts until total is paid then complete transaction.

Any update on this? Holiday season is here and we have many customers using multiple cards (credit, health care spending accounts, etc) as tender in a single transaction. It is very time extensive and customers are frustrated.

I'm off to chat with a couple of US retailers in the NorthEast whilst I'm visiting our US in October this is on the agenda to discuss how it might work.

I concur, I suspect that in software terms that would be complex as we'd need to handle one payment working and the other declining which sounds like a nightmare. I'll give it some thought but it sounds really complex to resolve. I know our customers in Germany face this issue as I think most card transactions are limited to 5,000 Euro's so splitting payments across cards is common in that country. I just cannot see a simple and therefore quick to deliver solution, perhaps that will come to me!

Neil McQuillan I was going to do that on Amazon the other day, but even they don't have it so is prob quite a difficult one! but a nice selling point to customers if we do have it!

Neil McQuillan and Richard Twinn we previously used another POS system and able to do it so I know it's possible!
Pretty, pretty please, worth the effort in the long run because splitting the total isn't going to go away.
