Hi everyone!
After some investigation, we have now managed to get the cash drawer and the receipt printing independently of each other. This will be a Cloud Printer only option, with new options when tendering to let you select one, both, or neither depending on your needs at the time of transaction. You will see this feature appear from our next release.
We'd like to thank you again for the suggestion and for voting on it, as it helps us prioritise during our development cycle.
Many Thanks,
Stacey

We have the opposite problem, whereby you go to reprint a receipt 40 col from the office, and end up popping the cash drawer at unmanned till station - not good.

Dave: we have another licence thankfully so we don't have this problem.

The solution is to have a till drawer controlled by the "till" not by the "printer". i think it always opens if paper is printed. however there are times when it is not required to open such as after opening amounts or when no money has been taken and times it is required such as when change is due without a receipt,.

Paul: How do you get it set up to be controlled by the till?
I am a new user and have found cashing up peculiar and tried teaching my staff using "How to" print out. It is bizarre as the How to starts with the Z report and ends with X report??? Difficult to count cash from drawer when it won't open! I tried to tell Nicole on helpline but she said I was wrong. Printed off the pages from How to complete end of day and it is there- all wrong!

Cheryl Daubney: you can't is my problem, Some other till systems can, and that's why this system wont be able to do what people are asking.

Paul: glad I am not the only one. I have run out of receipt paper and they cocked up my order and didn’t send so for a week now my drawer is firmly shut. Is anyone listening to the problem?
S
Simon
Paul: Yeah, I think the receipt printer sends a pulse to the drawer to pop it open. I'm sure there will be an update along at some point to sort this out.

Agree, when people pay cash and need change a closed draw is no good!
