Quicker Item Import from Sim
complete

Create a quicker ways to import adhoc items from the Supplier Integration module.
In the POS search if a partcode is not found provide the option to search SIM for the partcode and quickly import the item into the POS, this would greatly improve the speed of special order processing. At the point of import it would be great to be able to set Department and Category information, and edit the cost price and opening inventory position.
A similar process could be offered when creating items in the backoffice, providing the option to simply import a single item from SIM skipping the supplier basket. This again would make pulling an adhoc item from supplier data quicker than needing to visit the SIM basket screen.
I wonder if this would also be useful in the purchase orders module, when adding a code finds no item in the Cloud POS database SIM could be searched.

It would be nice if the SIM import was also available in the workshop module. it would make the mechanics lives much easier

Hi all,
We've started work on this new feature and we have a bit more work to do to get the performance of the search working well.
We're planning to add this to the following locations in Cloud POS...
• POS - Item Search
• Backoffice - Item Search
• Backoffice - Advanced Item Search
• Backoffice - Purchase Order Add Item control.
We're expecting this to be available following the Cloud POS release in March 2024.
Thanks,
Suzy

Adding SIM items from POS

Is there any reason why it wouldn't be possible to create a item from SIM, for example, when creating an order? It can be a bit awkward when a customer wants to order an item that isn't on POS, particularly if you want to take a deposit against it, as you have to have the customer hang around whilst you create the product.
We often find ourselves using a miscellaneous item in order to let the customer get away with a view to correcting it once we have created the product but of course, this can sometimes be forgotten meaning the item doesn't get picked up on a suggested order.

I think "I wonder if this would also be useful in the purchase orders module, when adding a code finds no item in the Cloud POS database SIM could be searched" this bit already exists unless I'm not understanding what you're saying?
I often create a "dummy" PO to import SIM products if needed straight away in Cloud POS as it's much quicker than queuing the SIM Import. But the ability to do this directly within POS would be useful, I agree.
