Show on POS when item is on sale

I really need this function, it's frustrating to have a bike on sale on our website that customers have seen already and when staff enter the SKU into POS it does not show it's discounted from RRP. Furthermore, it does not show the savings from the normal price on the receipt either. I've also had staff pricing items with the sale price instead of the usual price, so when the sale ends... there's a heap of stock incorrectly priced in the shop creating confusion. I know this has been raised already before, I am pushing for it and hoping to rally support - It's the ONLY thing lacking in my total love for Citrus-Lime.

Hi all,
Here's a quick screenshot of how the new changes will display in the POS from the December release of Cloud POS.
Thanks,
Suzy

Items on Sale -- On the receipt...sale items should reflect the standard price, the sale price and show the discount

Right now, when we put an item on sale in the system, the price on the receipt shows only the sale price and no discount. I would prefer the receipt show the original price, the sale price and the discount they received. Otherwise, it looks like the sale price is "the" price and no discount was ever given. Especially this time of year, when manufacturers are having massive sales for Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Holidays/Christmas, and Year-End Clearance sales.
For example, right now the new Troxus 2-Up E-bike is on sale...normal price $2199, sale price (for a limited time only) is $1999. The customer is saving $200 (i.e. getting a $200 discount. I'm able to reflect the normal price and the sale price in the Item Card. But the receipt only reflects the sale price, without ever showing the discount they are receiving.
I respectfully ask that the price show as $2199 (the original price), with a discount of $200.
Some of the bikes I have on the shop floor are now $1200 off! The receipt should reflect that.

The receipt does show the sale price though. It's the POS screen that doesn't.

Hi everyone,
We're going to make some improvements to the display of discounts/sale prices in the POS.
What we're planning is that we'll split the display of discounts into two sections - the first any "automatically calculated" discounts, these would be a reduction of the price based on the RRP, or a Sale Price being applied.
The second, would be "manual discounts", so any that the cashier has applied in the transaction.
We'll also make sure that all discount types are displayed as a saving on the full size receipts.
This work is planned to be included in the Cloud POS update in November this year.
Thanks,
Suzy

I Agree totally, this is happening in my Store as well with staff making mistakes and creating confusion with Sale prices. Then customers asking for more discounts. Good point Jeff!

I could not agree more!!! This really is a NEED not a want...
Here is some of our feedback on this and how it affects the business.
Issues for us:
1. Receipts not showing savings unless a sale price is set. But in the case the Price is 10% less than the MSRP no saving is displayed. Some of our suppliers allow us to have a price that is 10% under MSRP. Which does mean that we are passing on a 10% saving to our customers. We want them to be able to see that 10% as a saving on their receipt. Instead of that looking like the full price- when they have saved 10%. The web does display it as a saving so why can’t our receipts too?
2. If we are running a sale only in-store (as an example 20% off pony camp list. Discount to be applied by the till staff because it requires pony camp proof) If a staff member cannot immediately see that an item is already on sale when they scan it at the till- they are at risk of setting a discount on an item that really should not qualify for a discount.
We think it would be of use to at least have the discount value/percentage displaying in the discount column on the till POS screen. The column is already there anyways…
3. A follow up on point 2- We have noticed that when you’re at the till, and you go to set an item discount a list appears which gives you the option to Select a Discount Method to Apply. The system automatically highlights and selects the first option - Discount Percentage (current price). Why would this be an issue you may ask? Well, that could be the difference between giving a customer 20% OFF or accidentally offering 40% OFF because the member of staff wasn’t aware that the item was already on sale. I am informed by the support team that they cannot set the default to - Discount Percentage (MSRP) (that would at least reduce the risk of discounting on top of an existing discount - unknowingly.)
So… can we remove the default all together?? This would make it so till staff have to select the discount method to apply from the appropriate channel. Instead of them just setting a value in the box below and pressing enter- which will automatically take the discount off the current price on the item. Whether it is already on sale or not.

Fiona totally agree!!!! We have also had issues with customers not thinking they have received a discount. Think all points are valid
