Stock error message on POS2.0 does not accurately describe the situation

If there's 2 orders for the same item and only 1 in stock. in POS2.0, it'll be in red stating "This item has already been committed on another order" on both orders. this is wrong as if the customers enquire about the order we will tell the cusatomer the wrong information causing customer support issues. (also there is no stock allocation so it cannot be commited to an order)
I would suggest the text changes to something like
"There is not enough stock to cover all customers orders"
this will make it clearer and save time and money investigating these kind of messages which are incorrect
or maybe at least create a how-to with explanations of these messages

Quite frankly, I don't want the POS to "capture" the item against an order. I need to be able to sell the item if I know more are on the way in order to satisfy a customer order. We need an override button. And better messaging (as stated above).

Hi all,
We'll make this change, this should be in the October release of Cloud POS (end of the month).
Thanks,
Suzy

Hi Richard,
Thanks for the feedback!
As you said we don't allocate the stock to specific orders but we wanted to make it clear in the POS that there isn't enough stock to cover all orders.
I really like your suggestion of the text changes to "There is not enough stock to cover all customers orders", I'll wait to gather some further feedback from other users of the system too.
Thanks,
Suzy

Suzy Weightman Thanks Suzy, hopefully just a text change will help stop confusion around this

Suzy Weightman could you also make it orange maybe so not to seem so jarring?

Yes. This creates constant confusion when booking in deliveries.
