Temporary promotional supplier/dealer costs
Shannon Connor
’d like to request a feature that allows Cloud POS to handle temporary promotional supplier/dealer costs in the same way it already handles temporary customer sale prices.
Manufacturers sometimes offer dealers short-term promotional pricing. For example, one of our suppliers recently gave us reduced dealer costs that are only valid through August 15. Right now, if I update the Supplier Cost to take advantage of that promotion, the temporary cost effectively becomes the new permanent supplier cost unless I remember to go back and change it later.
It would be very helpful to have a Promotional Supplier Cost feature with:
Regular Supplier Cost
Promotional Supplier Cost
Promotion Start Date
Promotion End Date
Automatic reversion to the regular supplier cost when the promotion expires
Ideally, the promotional supplier cost would also flow through to purchase orders created during the valid promotional period, while preserving the regular cost as the default once the promotion ends.
This would be especially useful for dealers who work with manufacturers that run seasonal specials, temporary dealer incentives, preseason programs, closeout pricing, or short-term restocking promotions.
It would also help keep cost history more accurate. A temporary five-day dealer promotion should not require permanently changing the item’s normal supplier cost or relying on staff to remember to manually reverse it afterward.
The functionality could potentially mirror the existingSale Price + Start Date + End Date concept, but on the purchasing/supplier-cost side.
Thank you for considering it.
