user switch

It would be nice to have a faster log out option. Maybe at the top right near the user name. It may not sound like much, but when it's busy and we have multiple users it can be a hassle. I also have noticed because we have 4 computers that we are typically login in from they are all being refreshed at different times. So that causes the screen to not accurately show who's logged into what register. So I will see myself still logged in and enter a register that unknowingly kicks someone else out. Making it very important that we are being diligent to sign out after every use. It seems obvious, but if I'm just looking something up fast during a bike sale jumping back and fourth an be tedious.

I would like to see 'Switch user' seperate to 'Log out' New users often log out which is frustrating. Switch user needs to be in a more prominent position on the screen .A prompt to switch user when the screen is idle would also help.
Tracking users is more important to some retailers than others and this should be reflected in a degree of flexibility within the system.

Hi Philip,
Thanks for the feedback, would my suggestion below fit this requirement for you?

Suzy Weightman Enforcing quick switch although annoying for some users would help us keep track of cashiers

Philip Landray After each transaction, or just after a set "inactivity" time?

Suzy Weightman the Inactivity option cold be good. Otherwise a switch user button next to the users name would be good.

Hi all,
Where would people like to see another log-out option in the POS?
We currently have the options to enforce quick switch (I understand this wouldn't be applicable for the scenario above where no transaction is completed), then we have the help menu in the top right with a Log Out option and the navigation on the left with both Quick Switch and Log Out options.
Just wondering if we split the two nav options for Quick Switch and Log Out and put them as direct clickable options on the nav (so requiring one click instead of two) ?
My only concern with this is it might get annoying if you click these icons by accident and are logged out immediately.
Thanks,
Suzy
