Currently, automated Workshop Booking Reminders are completely automated and cannot be bypassed on a per-job basis. They only stop sending if a bike is marked as "Checked In" or "Bike Build".
This causes major issues when we have a booking but are forced to wait (e.g., Awaiting Parts or Warranty Claims). The job remains open in the system, but we do not want the customer to bring the bike in yet. Because we cannot toggle the reminder text off for that specific job, the system automatically text blasts the customer telling them to drop off their bike for an arranged date/time that is no longer valid. This causes massive customer confusion, unnecessary phone calls, and frustrated riders showing up at the shop with bikes we cannot fix yet.
The Solution
Add a simple "Disable Booking Reminder" toggle switch directly inside the individual Workshop Job sheet interface (right next to the existing status toggles like Checked In or Waiting Parts).Ticking this toggle should instantly exempt only that specific job from the global automated SMS/email reminder queue.
Why This Helps Prevent Customer Confusion: Stops automated texts from sending misleading appointment dates when jobs are stalled by external warranty or parts delays.
Reduces Workshop Friction: Mechanics and service advisors won't have to deal with angry customers who traveled to the shop under false pretenses.
No Messy Workarounds: Staff won't have to resort to bad workarounds like deleting the customer's mobile number or constantly rescheduling phantom dates just to stop a text.
