Hi all,
With the launch of Workshop 2.0 this week, this is now available!
You can set Workshop Minutes against any item record (this can be done in bulk through the Item Detail Wizard), this will then be used to calculate the time for the job based on all the items on the job at the time of scheduling.
Thanks,
Suzy

Would it be possible to have a new product type (or add parameters to existing non-inventory products) to give a job a pre-determined amount of workshop time. For example, you could create a product for a Silver Service and give it a work shop time of 3 hours. Then when it's booked in it automatically creates a block of three hours and prevent it being dropped in to the calendar if there isn't a slot big enough.

Hi all,
My proposal for this is that we'll add a new field which can be set against items, "Workshop Time".
This will allow you to set a time value against labor items, and when the job is scheduled we'll calculate the total time based on those values - if there aren't any set, we'll default to the standard 1 hour.
We'll likely still allow for these to be adjusted as required after scheduling.
Thanks,
Suzy

Suzy Weightman another option is to assign a time to a cost for example £ = "x" time, anything within the labour department/catagory would pull this through so if you added 3 jobs from the labour category at £20 each then that will allocate on the workshop calendar time ="X times 60"

PM Hi,
That sounds like a good idea, we'd still need configuration setup for the Dept/Cat that people want to use so we're not "guessing" at the labour category.
We'd likely need to allow a list of categories as well as I think one will be too restrictive.
So we'd need a list of categories, and then a configuration setting for £/$ to Time ratio?

Yes! Have seen this in other systems and saves a lot of time and mistakes keeping mechanics much happier!

Alternatively being able to set time amounts on labor items would be a nice way to make the workshop job time dynamic.
Brake Adjust +15min
Derail Adjust +15 min
Bottom Bracket Adjust +20 min
Total WS job: 50 min

Thats a good idea, I'll float this internally to see if it's possible.
