Hello Citrus-Lime Support Team,

I’m writing with a suggestion for the Workshop Module and Purchase Ordering system that could help stores identify immediately when parts have arrived for workshop jobs.

At present, when an ordered part arrives and is checked into stock, our team records where it has been placed. However, the associated workshop job remains under “Waiting for Parts” unless somebody manually checks the delivery, identifies the relevant job and updates its status.

Would it be possible for Citrus-Lime to link a purchase-order item to the relevant workshop job, so that checking the part into stock automatically creates a visible alert on the Workshop Workbook?

For example, the affected workshop job could be highlighted in amber to indicate:

“Part received — job ready to progress.”

Alternatively, the system could add a clear icon, notification or separate status that allows the team to filter and identify all “Waiting for Parts” jobs where the required parts have now arrived.

This would be particularly helpful in a busy workshop. We experienced an example on Saturday where a customer came in regarding their repair. Their part had arrived late on Thursday and had been placed in the workshop parts bins, but because the team had been extremely busy, the workshop job had not been updated. Therefore, it was not immediately apparent from the Workbook that the part was already available.

A visible or automatic alert would allow the Workshop Manager or any mechanic viewing the Workbook to identify the job immediately, move it forward in the workflow and arrange or begin the repair. It would also reduce delays, prevent parts from sitting unnoticed and improve communication with customers.
