We have 3 main mechanics:
1/ works 6am to 2pm Mon-Fri
2/ works 10:30am to 4:30pm Tues-Sat
3/ is a Trustee and available on an ad-hoc basis.
We also have a number of volunteer mechanics who work variable hours.
In order to assign a job to a mechanic, we need to see who is available. Our Workshop opening hours are currently 6am-4.30pm Mon-Fri and 10:30am to 4:30pm Sat. These are different to our shop opening times of 9:30am to 4:30pm Mon-Sat.
We need to mark against each mechanic what are their normal working hours and days. This needs to incorporate the fact that the shop is closed on Sundays and we also shut down between Christmas and New Year.
Over and above that we need to mark mechanics as unavailable when they have booked holiday, days off, medical appointments, etc., which can use the existing features.

It'd be useful, in the workshop module, to have a way of booking off a mechanic on specific days with a reason other than Holiday. Perhaps the ability to customise the description. Thanks Matt

I have 2 temp staff and would like an addistional drop down so that i can mark them down as working certain days - just like the current way it works but instead of marking it as holiday have a dropdown so i can mark them as in
this would save me having to constantly monitor a seperate rota and allow other staff to clearly see when there are mor resources avaiable

Re-occuring Holidays

it would be really useful when Holidays are entered that we could have re-occuring holidays. (i.e.) Every Monday. We have staff members working part time so having repeated holidays would reduce time every monday orgainsing the workshop diary for the staff
We also have some stores that use the diary as a planner instead of Diary and again, having the re-occuring option would be great so the headers are displayed correctly

I know this has been brought up before, but it would be very beneficial to to have the available work hours set for each mechanic as opposed to currently on set of hours for the store. We have 2 full-time and various part-time mechanics who all work different hours so it makes it challenging to use the calendar effectively for each mechanic (and not easily visible for the sales staff when booking repairs to know how much time is available for each mechanic).

I agree and would like to see this taken one degree higher. Where an employee can be schedule to work in Citrus Lime and for the days they are not scheduled to work they are automatically shown as "on holiday" and no work can be scheduled for said employee.

Agreed, the ability to set work hours specific to each mechanic would be very useful, we used this in our last system and worked very well to accurately book jobs in. Also the ability to block out time every day for lunch hours would be helpful.
