Workshop productivity/profitability is not reportable

George does more warranty repair work than the other mechanics (labour tendered at £0 per hour). Dave gets pulled out of the workshop to help serve customers at busy times. Rob just fixes bikes. We need a way of quantifying the profitability of our workshop and evaluating the performance of each mechanic. We can't do this at present. Along with the "mechanic available hours" canny post (would be nice to have some way of reflecting available hours for each mechanic within CL, rather than having to work this out from timesheets afterwards) Labour £value tendered per mechanic isn't enough and gives a distorted/unhelpful answer. Would also be amazing to know the value of parts and profit made from parts that are fitted to bikes as part of service jobs, rather than standalone over-the-counter sales. Being able to quantify 2.25 hours labour at £0 per hour would be a very helpful start.

Hi all
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us.
We're marking this one as Complete, as the 'Mechanic Performance Report' in Cloud Reports will show you, per mechanic:
Number of Hours - how long their jobs were scheduled for in the workshop module.
Number of Completed Jobs - the count of completed jobs for the mechanic on that date.
Labour Revenue Generated - this is based on Non-Inventory line items on the Workshop Jobs
We have also built a new 'Workshop Performance Report', which allows you to report on the value of AddOn items - parts etc. that are sold as part of service. You can read more about that new report here: https://howto.citruslime.com/41977-reporting/how-do-i-use-the-workshop-performance-report

Is there a report available which shows number of jobs and value each mechanic has completed or invoiced in a selected period?

This would be great to have.

Agreed. We'd really love to find a way of quantifying a mechanics hours and to account for warranty and PDIs etc. This way of linking it to labour charged out just doesn't work.

- contracted hours per time-period for each mechanic
- number of labour hours achieved per time-period
- difficult to find a way of recording the number of hours per day that a mechanic spent serving customers or making phone calls or doing research or answering the phone, and therefore had a legitimate reason for not fixing bikes and their statistics looking worse.
