Info: there is no arbitrary system, it depends on the cost of the change and what other work items we have going on. In this case we’re not sure how to add another text box to a user interface with a lot of functionality on it.
Right now our team are all on the new POS UI so this is one reason this is yet to be addressed.
I’d be open to ideas of how this might work whilst still having readable notes.

Neil McQuillan: My thinking was a separate text box, much like the current one although the one for staff notes doesn't print on the receipt.

We always write in the comment in full knowledge that the customer may read it.
I think it may be helpful to have an option "visible to customer" to allow us to hide it?

Neil McQuillan This is something that is really lacking from the workshop module and it appears to have garnered quite a bit of interest. Any chance that it could be implemented?

That would be extremely helpful. I'm sure the customer is not interested in how far I got with tracking down the unique part for his bike and the 13+ suppliers I trawled through, their reference details and comments before I eventually found the bit needed for his bike!
