using the board view, we leave this view open, the jobs do not auto update if completed etc. on that view. we have multiple machines and mechanics so if something changes, it needs to be updated automatically

Thanks for sharing your feedback on this. I completely understand where you're coming from.
Have you considered using a Chrome extension to auto-refresh the page? This would likely provide you with more customisation control than a Cloud POS change. For example, you could choose the duration for the refresh, and I can see options in the Chrome Web Store that also give the option of pausing the refresh schedule while the user interacts with the page (so that it doesn't refresh when a job is being amended, for example). 
You could deploy the extension just on the Board view on the Workshop, or choose to utilise it on other pages in Cloud POS also.

Emma - Citrus-Lime Hi Emma, we have 70+ machines to manage and no easy way of rolling this out and maintaining it, also the machines could be signed in with different users, e.g. manager or store or assistant manager, so the extension would need to be installed again, the cleanest way is to have it built into the workshop module. thanks
