Workshop 2.0 - Print Options - Add 4th Option
planned

Hey Crew,
Firstly, loving the new workshop 2.0, so many tiny whinges i had about 1.0 have been resolved.
With the print options (see screen shot) a 4th option would be great.
"Print 40-Col Receipt Basic Info Only"
Basic info would be; customer name, customer contact details, job number and barcode, reference, service item, storage slot, due date.
Essentially the same as the normal 40-col receipt but with no items, parts, etc.
We currently print 40-col receipts to attach to the bikes as they come in, as well as to parts boxes, wheels, etc. So when there are lots of items in the workshop job, and/or words in the comment sections, the receipts get quite long and are a waste of paper.
So a basic 40-Col would be great for a quick fire label to go onto the bike, a customer's helmet they left with their bike.
And when I pull a bike apart and I have the handle bars, wheels, frame and fork all removed, I can just print 5 basic receipts/tags.
Cheers,
Pete

Thank you again for your feedback on this topic.
We are going to introduce a 4th print-out option for the Workshop, as requested here. We're beginning work on this shortly and, pending successful testing, we are targeting the October Cloud POS Release.
Thank you for sharing your feedback to help us improve Cloud POS Workshop. We hope you'll all find this new format helpful (and save some trees!).

Emma - Citrus-Lime but PLEASE Emma, combine my request and Anything Technicals request to have the DUE DATE and SURNAME bigger at the top of the simplified receipt so its easy to find things :)

Could we maybe have a shorter workshop receipt which is only used for identification purposes?
Something along the lines of the customer name, the bike and some dates? We don't need the 4 foot receipt printed out with all the components they are having replaced listed.

And make the customer name REALLY BIG AND BOLD! And maybe the due date too...

Scott Hargrave I forgot this. It takes me longer to find the name on the receipt that it does the bike.

Chris 😆 yes and when you get to 50+ like me by the time you can focus and read the name you have forgotten it 😊

Easy Scott, I'm blind, not past it !

That would be cool.

Agree!

We would love this! We put a ticket on every bike to know who's it is and what storage location it is at. We don't need the entire order for this, and agree with the multiple tickets for multiple items. We use a crazy amount of 40 col receipt paper and would love a way to save some trees.
Thank you!

Hi Pete,
Firstly, thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. It's great to hear that you're enjoying using Workshop 2.0.
This is an interesting suggestion. Could I clarify a few points with you?
1) If we were to implement this, would the store information at the top of the 40-Col receipt be useful in your opinion, or not?
2) Same question for the 'You were served by' and customisable 40-Col text at the bottom (which is configurable against each Register). I would imagine not, if your intention is that this receipt is never customer-facing.
3) You've mentioned that the items list wouldn't be useful to you, but would an order total be worth including?
If anyone else would like to contribute their thoughts here, we'd love to hear your ideas.

Thanks for reading my suggestion. and posing some sensible questions.
1 - i would think the store info is not needed for this type of docket, as it is just for in house bike labelling.
2 – yes, correct. No need for the “served by” name
3 – actually a total is probably a good idea and does not take up much room.
If the customer name and bike info could be printed fairly large as well that would be handy (at least double the current font size)

Emma - Citrus-Lime Thanks, we like to print out all the info when the bikes arrives on the A4 printout. This means we can collect the bike and see all the info. What needs to be done to the bike. We can write notes on the sheet. Write down estimates and then take the paper to the phone, with their tel number on it to call and give them a quote. Also need the surname in large bold, so we can find the bike easily when starting the service and also finding the bike for collection. Too much of our day is taken up looking for bikes.
