Citrus-Lime Master - DO NOT CHANGE
I have brought together all posts about better views by status or a planner view. This will be one of our top objectives in the coming workshop overhaul to ensure this feature is 'standout', so it will be easy to:
- See jobs by status (there are separate Canny's to expand the number of job statuses which we will also address. A planner view if you like
- Filter jobs by status
- Move jobs quickly between different statues

The key thing from us is being able to create custom status’ ourselves so for example “binding mount”, “qc ready” rather than the limited ones offered

Scott Hi Scott,
That will be available in the Cloud POS release on Monday evening - this is in preparation for the board view in the Workshop but will be available to be setup and start using these statuses as of Monday evening/Tuesday morning.
There's some more information on this new feature in the release article - https://howto.citruslime.com/en_US/2025/cloud-pos-whats-in-the-july-2025-release
Thanks,
Suzy

Add KANBAN board view for customer orders

Please can we introduce CitrusLime to the old but perfectly formed concept of KANBAN Boards?
Moving to Cloud POS has some benefits, but it’s caused tasks to become hidden to us. As a simple example, the workshop module doesn’t show work as cleanly and concisely as the old system. and whilst that’s true it’s also made us look at things differently. And come to realise we need a new KANBAN view on the CloudPOS. This is not solved by creation of a new report. It’s an operational solution, it’s a different way of viewing and engaging with your work that sits somewhere in CloudPOS that you need to action.
Currently it’s easy to loose track of customers orders/enquiries/jobs. The powerful concept of viewing the status of all work on a T-card style KANBAN board is key to tracking work easily and understanding what’s holding things up. Every job has a T-card and it sits somewhere along the KANBAN board. Every business should be able to view their entire set of customer orders on the KANBAN. Orders sit in one of 8 status queues 1) Unallocated Backlog, 2) Working on it (who?), 3) awaiting customer authorisation, 4) stuck awaiting parts to be ordered, 5) stuck awaiting parts to arrive, 6) needs QC Checking, 7) ready for dispatch. 8) Customer Cancelled order.. this concept has been used for decades in businesses of all sizes and types. With Citrus Lime all this info sits hidden, and yet a simple KANBAN view of the data would enable us to work smarter by seeing what’s holding up the customers orders.
Different types of job have different colours. So we have yellow for workshop jobs (workshop), blue for new customer order enquiry (e.g. new quote), red for returned item with problem (returns), orange for new bike to build (work order), white for bike fitting appointment (work order).. etc.
We can,and do, do this the old fashioned way, using a manual KANBAN board with hand written T-cards. Which we’ve been doing ever since we upgraded to CloudPOS. Each day we review the board as a team, and work gets done by focusing on what’s holding each card up. Card get moved to each column as progress is made, to indicate it’s status. It also brings to light what the holdups are in your business. It’s about time it went online though, as this info already exists, sitting hidden in the citrus lime cloud.

Hi everyone,
We’re excited to share that work has officially begun on the board view for Workshop 2.0! 🎉
This is still very much in its early stages – rough and ready – but we wanted to give you a sneak peek now that development is underway.
📸 Here's a snapshot of what we're working on (test data and all). Please note: this is just a test view for now.
We're sharing this to give you visibility into what's coming and to invite your early feedback. Your thoughts will help shape how this evolves, so please let us know what you think!
Thanks,
Suzy

Suzy Weightman we don't currently allocate jobs to mechanics, is this an essential part and has been requested?
Thanks
Suzy Weightman
Richard Twinn Hi Richard,
No not essential at all, in the screenshot above we're looking at being able to group by mechanic as this is how a lot of people use the Workshop Module at the moment.
Here's a screenshot without that grouping.
Thanks,
Suzy

Workshop View - have a planner based view
I
IT Hackney
Due to various reasons, we now use the diary more like a planner. where each column is a status rather than a date. this is proving to be a lot quicker for the staff to manage and easier to see what jobs are due. giving the staff less admin work and more time for jobs.
i've attached 3 screenshots of examples (us, 3rd party and MS planner) to show how we're using it, hopefully that exaplins a little further.
having £ totals in the headers would be great, the option to auto email customers when they get moved into certain columns and to show which mechaincs are on holiday.
maybe there could be a diary view and board view options so CL customers can choose their preference?

Overdue collection

it would be handy to get a report or list that is easy to see if we have a repairs not collected that have been left by customers for example over a month, good for house keeping by prompting staff to contact customer or alerting staff of a bike that has been collected or scraped but is still in the system.

We are going to make it much easier to view things by job status in the coming workshop version 2.0, this will be addressed by that. I've tagged this Canny so we make sure we consider it when creating the views.
