Do you use Amazon?
Nick Johnston
Hi,
I wanted to open a discussion with other retailers currently using the Amazon integration within Citrus Lime (CL), and highlight a few areas where the integration could potentially be improved.
Amazon is an important sales channel for many retailers. While the current integration with CL is helpful, it feels noticeably more limited than the functionality available with the eBay integration.
A number of improvements could significantly improve efficiency for retailers managing their catalogues across multiple sales channels.
From our experience, the following areas would benefit from further development:
- Access to Customer Shipping Details
Currently the customer information available through the Amazon integration is quite restricted. Having access to the relevant customer details required for shipping updates and fulfilment would help streamline order processing and reduce the need to move between platforms.
- Increased Listing Sync Limits
The current cap on the number of listings that can synchronise between Citrus Lime and Amazon can be restrictive for retailers managing larger catalogues. Increasing this limit would allow businesses to scale their Amazon presence more effectively without needing to manage significant parts of their catalogue directly through Amazon Seller Central.
- Ability to Create ASINs Directly from Citrus Lime
Allowing retailers to create Amazon ASIN listings directly within Citrus Lime would improve workflow efficiency and opportunities
- Greater Control Over Category Selection
Providing more flexibility when assigning or editing Amazon product categories from within Citrus Lime would help ensure products are placed correctly within Amazon’s marketplace structure. Accurate categorisation plays a key role in product visibility and discoverability on Amazon.
- Improved Variation Management (Size / Colour / Style)
Many retail products rely heavily on variation structures. Greater control over creating and managing parent/child listings and variation attributes such as size or colour would help retailers maintain consistent listings and improve stock accuracy across platforms.
- Improved Inventory Synchronisation
Stronger real-time stock synchronisation between Citrus Lime and Amazon would reduce the risk of overselling or stock discrepancies. Clearer visibility of sync status and any errors would also help retailers identify and resolve issues quickly. (This has been improved, but could be improved)
- Image Management and Sync Control
Being able to manage and synchronise product images between Citrus Lime and Amazon directly as we have to have the same image in all places, this is an issue when we run offers on one channel and not another and use imagery to highlight the offer.
- Feature Parity with the eBay Integration
Ideally, the Amazon integration would eventually offer a similar level of functionality to what Citrus Lime currently provides for eBay. The eBay integration offers far greater flexibility and control over listings. Expanding the Amazon tools to a comparable level would allow retailers to manage both platforms far more effectively from a single system.
If other retailers are using Amazon alongside Citrus Lime, it would be really useful to hear
What limitations you have experienced
What improvements would make the biggest difference to your workflow
Any workarounds you are currently using
Hopefully this feedback can help highlight areas where the integration could evolve to better support retailers operating across multiple sales channels
