Apple Pay Invoices
Neil McQuillan - CEO Citrus-Lime
Merged in a post:
I would like to be able to download a monthly report detailing the fees deducted for Apple pay. At the moment I have to view each daily transaction and compile a spreadsheet for accounting purposes.

i have already a case opened for this, Citrus lime can't seem to understand why it is necessary, they also think its difficult to do even though the information on is already there.

After investigating it i have an easy solution there is a column chooser but you can only remove colums but can't add any so obviously this was a bit unfinished, simply give us the option to add gross and net and the commision in a column, and for goodness sake rename it to Apple Pay its not citruspay

PM: If we use CitrusPay to take other payment types (e.g. GooglePay or AfterPay) they appear in the same report which is why it's referred to as CitrusPay. Some people also use this for general credit card processing.

i agree with PM, this is a fudge, we need a clear invoice for the tax man, I am running the report monthly, calculating fees at 1.6% then putting this on a purchase invoice. But we are legally entitled to an invoice for any and all services provided, any audit by the taxman will flag this and we'd get hit with a tax bill and Citruslime for refusal to provide an invoice for charged services. This needs to be taken very seriously by Citruslime.

Peter Carol: I don't understand. The fee is a commission on the sale and as such our understand is an invoice is not required. We cannot invoice you for it, as we don't get the fees, I believe this is very similar to how credit card merchant accounts work.
If you have an example report from your card provider which shows what you need placing it here in a redacted format might help me understand better.
We have a number of customers large enough to be externally audited and it's not flagged as an issue that their accountants but they might be exporting daily.
I'm not intentionally being obtuse, just trying to explain the logic we used to create the reporting we have done to date.

Neil McQuillan - CEO Citrus-Lime: credit cards such as payment sense do send us an invoice for processing fees, but commision is still a fee that goes to apple, i understand it does not go to citrus lime and that is the a reason you cant put it on your own invoice, but as apple dont supply it (they should) then citrus lime need to step up and provide it, which is very easy as i have provided the solution.. the bottom line is It's still a tax deductable expense and citrus lime have all the information needed, and i can find and see all that i need, but i am simply asking you to make it 10 times easier with a simple fix.

Neil McQuillan - CEO Citrus-Lime: Our monthly statement from paymentsense is 8 pages, the first page is probably most important as it summarises the months payments and the associated fees. The daily summary would be good too, easily auditable in a tax investigation. I am presuming your commission is to Applepay not to us, other wise it may be vatable.

Neil McQuillan - CEO Citrus-Lime: I had been using https://cloudmt.citruslime.com/#/payments, as this is where support pointed. Great that the payouts is there, but if I have to drill in every day to find the fees it is a ridiculours waste of my time. It is also unclear on what happens on fees with refunds, and the fees seem a different percentage every day, so what I have been doing is innacurate.

You can see this in Cloud MT, there is a report to break it out.
We cannot add it to our monthly invoices as we don't see the totals and it's not money which comes to Citrus-Lime. We do see a small commission but the fees also cover the platform provider costs, Apple's fees, credit card companies and the interchange fees.
https://cloudmt.citruslime.com/#/payouts (fees show as negative e.g. removed from the transaction revenue)

Neil McQuillan - CEO Citrus-Lime: No, this is not a solution as i said i dont want a report but your link does not even provide this, as it only shows the net amount and the export report just shows the same information. the only way i can see the Apple pay commision is to click on each day and see a breakdown , the export link should at least include gross and net breakdown.
Neil McQuillan - CEO Citrus-Lime
PM: I agree, however the API we use does not support doing a months worth of data, it times out which is why shorter term exports are required.

Neil McQuillan - CEO Citrus-Lime: rubbish! the data is already there but i need to click on each line to see it and the top of the page clearly says 1 month reports are the maxiumum and its only 1 month report i need, but only showing the net is useless, how would i know what the fee is without going into each line.

it,s that time of year and our accountant is saying that our system is sily that it does not provide an invoice for the fees deducted, basically we have fees being payed to somebody but we don't have any invoice for that, we are currenty every month haveing to go into each day and compile a spreadsheet. you say your api does not allow multiple days but you should create a system in the background that will go into each day record and present them in a single page summary.
might aswell merge with this to get it further up the list
