Cost price improved acuracy

I understand that the SIM data has to come with a basic cost price.
I've updated the price on each purchase order from a supplier three times now for my pre-season orders.
Is it possible to alter the system, so that if we update the cost price on the first consignment received that becomes the cost price default? We can then adjust the pricing on subsequent orders, to ensure that we're keeping average cost pricing for reporting purposes.

Hi Pete, I've had this request in the system for years. Marked as planned but don't know when it will be implemented: https://citruslime.canny.io/citrus-lime-backoffice/p/option-to-stop-purchase-orders-overwriting-supplier-costs-when-booked-in
I think it ties in with your problems...
This would mean that the Supplier Cost Price is only updated when we need it to be and not whenever a PO is booked in. (AVG costing works great as it is)
We would be able to run a Supplier Information Update wizard after a SIM import to fix our cost price.
Then, Pre-Order POs can be their usual lower price without changing the standard re-order cost when they are booked in.
We've been having major problems with cost prices over the last few years as suppliers keep having to change costs. I'll run a price update through but old POs where we are paying old, lower costs then overwrite my nice new and accurate cost!
